Summer Programs 2024
We are offering two service learning programs in Brockton this summer:
Green Team and Climate Crew.
Applications for Green Team and Climate Crew 2024 are closed! Thank you to everyone who applied.
Overview of Programs
Our youth service-learning programs are paid opportunities for teens to engage in environmental work and learning in Brockton. Crewmembers will complete a variety of outdoor projects focused on trail management, ecology, gardening, carpentry, environmental education, teamwork, and collaboration. Daily discussions with local professionals expose them to career, volunteer, and civic engagement opportunities. These programs are highly competitive, and applications are due April 15.
Stipend: $70/work day
Crewmembers have the opportunity to attend a (non-paid) camp out at Wildlands Trust’s Stewardship Training Center in Plymouth on July 26. Transportation to Plymouth will be provided.

Green Team History & Future
Our Plymouth-based Green Team summer program ran for 5 summers from 2015 - 2019 and included ages 12 - 19. Plans for 2020 were interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2022, with funding from our D.W. Field Park Initiative, we organized a Brockton-based Green Team to complete projects at the park. In 2023, Green Team continued in D.W. Field Park and other outdoor spaces in Brockton and we expanded the program from 10 to 15 crewmembers. The 2024 Green Team will be back at D.W. Field Park.
Our Brockton-based Green Team has been so successful that we have added a second Brockton summer program! Climate Crew will run at Hancock Elementary School this summer to support our Brockton Kids Lead the Way Project.
In Summer 2024, Wildlands will offer service-learning opportunities for Plymouth-area teens through our VolunTuesdays! Check out our Volunteer page for more information.
